OB Lanes is Rolling into Ocean Beach

Voltaire Beach House expands bringing four lanes of classic bowling & beachside eats to OB

Since its opening in 2017, Voltaire Beach House has been a salty air, neighborhood destination locals call home. Now, the Nantucket style beach house and restaurant is adding even more fun by bringing a classic bowling alley to Ocean Beach. The addition of the four-lane bowling alley will create a community gathering space with indoor and outdoor seating and an additional appetizer-driven menu to choose from.

Located at 4934 Voltaire Street, this neighborhood four-lane bowling alley, restaurant and bar is sure to connect with all who share a love for entertainment. The concept is the brain-child of successful restaurateurs David Schiffman, George Somers and Mark Huber who are known for spear-heading various San Diego hotspots such as Florent Restaurant & Lounge, Double Deuce, Whiskey Girl, The Horn and The Rabbit Hole.

The bowling alley will be open daily to the general public and available for private events and parties. The venue will be the perfect place to host birthdays, graduations, and celebrations for all-ages, providing family-friendly fun for any occasion. The existing space, attached to sister venue Voltaire Beach House, will be expanded with a build out to encompass the bowling alley, additional seating and bar area.  Bringing the beach to the bowling, OB Lanes’ design will feature fun and unique design features to enhance the patrons experience.  Voltaire beach House design will flow through in the expanded space with boardwalk style hardwood floor, a fire pit incorporated into a large bar, trees within the covered patio, a raised level for fun interactive party games and signature swings providing a playful ease. Acoustic live performers and sports games will entertain throughout the concept. OB Lanes will also feature its own finger-food menu that can be ordered throughout entire venue, adding shared plates reminiscent of classic bowling style eats with an unexpected twist to Voltaire’s already delicious coastal-Americana menu.

Operational Executive Chef Abe Botello is at the helm of the expanded venue with a menu that is sure to please all who come through the location’s door. Along with classic appetizer-driven additions, Chef Abe will be rolling out a new Voltaire Beach House spring and summer menu featuring community-driven, well-rounded dishes for lunch and dinner and limited late night menu available for snacks after-dark. Voltaire’s menu is complemented by a large selection of craft beer and signature craft cocktails.

Ocean Beach’s home for delicious food and good times just got that more fun.
